Amp Japan Begins Construction on 60MWdc Solar Power Plant in Fukushima City

Tokyo, Japan – December 7th, 2021 – Amp Energy, a global energy transition platform, today announced construction has commenced for its 60MWdc solar power plant, ‘Fukushima Sendatsuyama’, in Fukushima City.

Amp has acquired the land and developed the project including completing the Environmental Impact Assessment with the Ministry of Environment to ensure protection of the local environment such as forestry that surrounds the project, obtaining the Forestry Development Permit to construct solid civil foundation including adjacent ponds, and entering into all of the necessary agreements with the local community.

Construction of the project will be via a joint venture between Toshiba Plant System & Service Corporation and Okumura Corporation. Shinsei Bank will provide project finance for the project.

Commercial operation is scheduled for early 2025, with the construction and development of the project expected to create more than 200 local jobs.

The estimated annual generation of the power plant is approximately 69,000MWh, the equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 23,000 local households.
