2020 Sustainability Report

Highlighting examples of progress made towards Amp's sustainability objectives & ESG Materiality Matrix.

Message from our President & CEO

At Amp we dream big. We dream of a new future, a more sustainable future. Over the last 12 years we have scaled that dream to reach around the world. With operations in Japan, Australia, India, the UK, Czech Republic, North America and now Spain, we are no longer a small solar developer from Ontario, Canada. We have become an international force, leading the charge in reimagining the grid and finding solutions to scale renewable energy. The global team we have built has one vision — Energy Transition.

With Sustainability at the heart of our business, we continue to create solutions to reduce the impact of our own operation and create net benefit for the international communities we serve. We have a track record of collaborating with communities to ensure our Renewable Asset developments result in net reduction of CO, emissions while considering other important factors including biodiversity, storm water drainage and native vegetation. As we have scaled, we have stayed true to our origin story. Combining our innate entrepreneurial spirit with a best-in-class team and collective passion to create innovative solutions, we are forging a new path to a greener, cleaner energy future.

This rapid expansion could not be possible without our incredible team. Common values and a relentless passion to drive change are the building blocks to our elite team of thought leaders who are reimagining the end-to-end future of energy. The vision of a sustainable future is more critical but also more clear than ever before and we are excited to be making that dream of a sustainable future a reality.

We are committed to supporting nature and biodiversity, and work to ensure our clean energy projects also drive positive and sustainable environmental change.

Sustainability has been a core value since inception and has progressively expanded over the years. We view sustainability as the intersection of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, economic prosperity, and innovation that results in thriving communities across the globe.

The road towards sustainability is long but at Amp we have a vision of a greener, cleaner energy future. We know to be a true leader we must first reflect inwards, continuing to introduce new initiatives and commitments that will help us achieve our ESG vision of Growing Responsibly. Delivering a Microgrid for a remote First Nations community, 100km from the nearest electricity grid

Located 100km from the nearest electricity grid in British Columbia, Canada, the Nemiah Valley is home to the Xeni Gwet'in band of the Tsilhqot'in people. In collaboration with the Xeni Gwet'in Chief and community leaders, our team has delivered a solar + battery storage microgrid to provide reliable energy, while offsetting carbon intensive diesel generators and reducing the cost of energy for the community.
